Electrical Malfunction Blamed for Aquarium Store Fire in Dublin

Aquarium Concepts is temporarily closed due to the extensive smoke and water damage, fire officials said.

DUBLIN, CA — An electrical malfunction is the likely cause of a fire that started inside Aquarium Concepts in Dublin early Saturday morning, fire officials said. The blaze was reported at 6920 Amador Plaza Road at about 8 a.m., according to the Pulsepoint phone application.

Fire crews extinguished the fire about 10 minutes after they arrived.

“The aquariums sustained sprinkler and smoke damage causing various tanks to become cloudy and contaminated and some of the fish to perish,” fire officials said in a statement. “Through a coordinated effort with PG&E, firefighters were able to reestablish electrical power to restore the circulation pumps to the fish tanks.”
