Free Tax-Prep Services Available In Tri-Valley
IRS volunteers will handle 2017 returns for qualified residents, including seniors, at offices in Dublin & Pleasanton. Appointments needed.

DUBLIN, CA – The Tri-Valley One-Stop Career Center will offer free tax preparation services to qualified low-to-moderate income individuals, families and seniors from Jan. 24 through April 15, 2018.
Tax returns will be handled each week by IRS-certified volunteers at two locations in the Tri-Valley ---Wednesdays at the One-Stop Career Center offices at 6300 Village Parkway, Suite 100 in Dublin and Saturdays at the Pleasanton Library located at 400 Old Bernal Ave. in Pleasanton. There is also a drop-off option at the Tri-Valley One-Stop.
The program is offered provided by the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District in partnership with the United Way of the Bay Area through its Earn It, Keep It, Save It program. State and federal tax returns are e-filed so that patrons may receive refunds in as little as 10 days.
Those interested in using this service must call (925) 560-9431 to schedule an appointment in Dublin or Pleasanton, and then collect the following documentation to bring to the tax preparer:

- Photo ID for each person listed on a tax return
- Social Security card or ITIN for each person on a tax return
- All tax statements from 2017, such as W-2, 1099- 1098, SSA-1009, etc.
- Savings and checking account and routing numbers for direct deposit
- The household's health coverage information (1095-A, 1095-B, 1095-C)
- 2016 tax return
Also bring, if applicable:
- Property tax bill paid during the tax year
- Mortgage interest statement
- Child care provider information
- Landlord's name, address and phone number for CA renters credit
- Record of college-related expenses
