Gas Leak Capped After Construction Crews Strike 4-Inch Line

A gas leak reported in Dublin shortly after noon Friday was capped by PG&E crews about 90 minutes later, a utility spokeswoman said.

The leak was reported at 12:05 p.m. on Positano Parkway and was caused by a third-party dig-in that struck a 4-inch line, PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.

Crews responded and were able to pinch off the pipe and stop the flow of gas by 1:30 p.m., Sarkissian said.

The crews remained on site as of 2 p.m. to make repairs, which are expected to last into the evening, she said.

According to city officials, Positano Parkway is open for traffic in both directions.

No PG&E customers were affected by the leak, which did not prompt any evacuations, Sarkissian said.

She said Positano Parkway was briefly closed because of the leak but reopened when crews shut off the leak.
