Groundbreaking Held For New Dublin Police Station

The project is expected to take about 18 months.

DUBLIN, CA — A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Dublin Tuesday evening to celebrate the beginning of the construction of a new police station. Local dignitaries attended the rainy celebration.

The city council approved the bid to build the station in February. Officials said the expected cost for construction is about $15 million, with a $6 million budget for soft costs, including permits, fees and staffing. The city will be getting $15 million toward the project from a Community Benefit Payment from Dublin Crossing.

The project is expected to take about 18 months and city officials estimate it will be completed by October of 2019. The new station will be located at 6361 Clark Avenue in Dublin.
