Student Sheared Her Hair to Help Sick Children
Dublin High School sophomore Kaitlyn Kelly cut her hair to honor the memory of the father she lost to cancer.

It is not everyday that a teenager chooses to chop over ten inches of their beautiful hair off for a good cause. Last Saturday in Dublin, however, Kaitlyn Kelly did just that.
On April 6, Kelly who is a sophomore at Dublin High School, lopped off her long, brunette hair to donate to Locks of Love. According to Margaret Kelley, Kelly's mom, Kelly lost her father in November of 2012 to colon cancer so when she was at the Hairtique salon on Saturday, she decided to make the drastic cut in honor of her dad.
Margaret says Kim Sharp at Hairtique, the stylist who made the cut, will send Kelly's hair to Locks of Love in Florida. According to their website, Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hair pieces to children suffering from illnesses that cause long-term hair loss. Locks of Loves asks for a minimum of 10 inches of hair.
Margaret says she is proud of her daughter's donation.
