Hope 100 Golf Marathon Fundraiser Hits a Hole in One for Hope Hospice

Nineteen golfers took on a unique challenge this month to help raise more than $64,000 for Hope Hospice in the Hope 100 Golf Marathon. The challenge: to golf 100 holes in one day. The Hope 100 Marathon is a distinctive event that involved a serious commitment of the players who each set out to raise a minimum of $2,500. The strenuous nature of the event symbolizes the challenges patients and families face at the end of life.

The Hope 100 Golf Marathon was held in memory of Piper Wagner to support Hope Hospice. Piper was a beloved golf pro at Castlewood Country Club. She received personalized, loving care from Hope Hospice before losing her courageous battle with lung cancer in 2014.

“We are thrilled and gratified by the success of this golf marathon,” says Hope Hospice board member and event chair Kathleen Berriatua, NP. “We rely on the support of individuals, groups, businesses and corporate leaders to help us continue working with hundreds of families in need.”

“Our hats go off to these individuals and groups who took on the fundraising challenge,” says Bob Boehm, Hope Hospice CEO. “Because we are a non-profit agency, funds raised through donations go right back into the community in the form of hospice care and individualized services.”

The net proceeds from this event will help Hope Hospice provide the compassionate, high quality care necessary for hundreds of patients and their families throughout the year.
