Increase in Recyclables Theft at Dublin Businesses

In recent months, several Dublin businesses have experienced an increase in the theft of recyclables, according to a crime prevention alert issued by Dublin Police

The most common item stolen is loose or bundled cardboard, though there have also been instances where recyclable oil was stolen from oil vats. Thieves can generate hundreds to thousands of dollars by selling stolen recyclables to recyclers.
 
Businesses, residents, and patrons are asked to please report suspicious persons, vehicles, and activity near recycling containers. 

This includes: individuals loitering near recycling containers who do not appear to be affiliated with Amador Valley Industries (AVI) or nearby businesses; pick-up trucks without official emblems being loaded with recyclables; individuals tampering with locks on recycling container enclosures.
