KeyPoint Credit Union Hosts DAC Holiday Art Boutique in Dublin
Small Business Saturday in Dublin featured a Holiday Art Boutique hosted at a local business in support of East Bay area artists
DUBLIN, CA — Local artists and art lovers from the East Bay area enjoyed an opportunity to gather on Small Business Saturday at Keypoint Credit Union in Shamrock Village in Dublin.
Providing a unique opportunity to shop locally directly from artists and support the local Dublin Arts Collective (DAC) nonprofit at the same time, the Nov. 30 event proved to be successful for all involved. The event was sponsored by KeyPoint Credit Union and jointly organized by DAC VP Sawsan Wolski and Branch Manager Angela Season.

With artworks including ceramics, jewelry, paintings, woodturning and encaustics there was a variety of items to choose from. Books by local authors were also included in the display with DAC President, Claudia McCormick being one of the authors.

"What an honor to be a part of this, " said Angela Season (Branch Manager at KeyPoint Credit Union), "Amazing artists and unbelievably beautiful artwork. So proud to be a part of this community!"
Two newcomers to the Dublin arts scene were Andrea McCoy Harvey and Azar Vaghefi and both proved to be very popular with local shoppers some of whom returned after their first purchases to do more shopping. Andrea is an emerging artist who brings a powerful message with her art and her portrait series delivers a commanding statement for women of color and women's empowerment.

Azar Vaghefi depicts nature, color and light in her artwork and is an expert on abstract expressionist collage work. She will be hosting a solo ceramics and art sale for the festive season.
"We are extremely grateful to KeyPoint Credit Union and in particular to Angela Season for their wonderful support and enthusiastic energy in providing much needed space for artists to display their work in Dublin" said DAC VP Sawsan Wolski. "We look forward to future collaborations as they were superb hosts."
The DAC has several projects planned for 2020 including a youth oriented event partnering with Happy Valley Arts School and young artists from Lapis Lazuli.
Excitement is growing in the local arts community as planning for the Dublin's Cultural Arts Center gets underway. The first workshop inviting feedback from residents on the facility will take place on Saturday, January 25 from 11am to 2pm at Dublin library.

Encaustic artist Summer Ellis who participated in this event will be speaking at an art demonstration being organized by the Pleasanton Art League on January 13 in Pleasanton.
