Kitten Stuck In Glue Trap Gets Lucky Break: Alameda County
The glue kitten, now affectionately named "Elmer," will be available for adoption after Nov. 24 through Kitty911.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — A kitten that got stuck in a rodent glue trap last week in unincorporated Alameda County has been rescued and is in very good hands.
On Nov. 4 at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Alameda County Sheriff's Office received a call about the stuck kitty near San Leandro. Since it was after hours, the call — which was intended for animal services — was rolled to dispatch. Emergency Dispatcher Doris Ingols is a cat lover, and she explained to deputies on scene that they could free the kitten by applying vegetable oil its fur.
It worked: The stray male kitten was unstuck.

The black and white fur ball is now with Ingols' rescue, Kitty911 East County (not officially associated with ACSO).
"Kitty911 has actually taken in quite a few cats I have come across while working nights at Dispatch that needed extra help — the last one was a couple months ago and had an eye injury that required removal," Ingols said.
