Local School Gets a Visit From San Francisco 49ers Player
St. Philip Lutheran School was selected to receive a $10,000 grant for health and wellness programming or equipment.
San Francisco 49ers tackle Joe Staley spent time off the football field Monday to spend time with students from .
Staley visited the Principal’s office and spoke to students about the importance of good health. During the visit, he lead kids in fitness activities, as part of NFL’s PLAY 60 campaign, helping kids get 60 minutes of exercise a day.
On behalf of the NFL, Staley presented the school with a $10,000 NFL PLAY 60 grant for health and wellness programming or equipment. The school was selected as the San Francisco 49er Play 60 Super School.

The NFL PLAY 60 Super School sweepstakes selected one school in each of the 32 NFL markets and two non-NFL markets. Winning schools received the $10,000 NFL PLAY 60 grant and a visit from an NFL player.
