Meet Dublin’s New Police Chief
Commander Garrett Holmes will replace Police Chief Dennis Houghtelling.

DUBLIN, CA — City of Dublin officials announced Thursday that a new police chief will lead their department next month. Alameda County native Commander Garrett Holmes will take up his new post on December 15. Holmes, 51, is a 24-year veteran of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.
“Commander Holmes’ experience, leadership, and working knowledge of Dublin Police Services made him a natural choice to lead the Department,” said City Manager Christopher Foss. “We are extremely pleased to welcome him back to Dublin.”
This will be his third stint serving the Dublin community. Holmes will replace Police Chief Dennis Houghtelling, who will leave his post to become Assistant Sheriff.
