Military Banner Applications Open In Dublin
The city is continuing its tradition of banners honoring Dublin servicemen, women, and veterans along Dougherty Road.
DUBLIN, CA — Applications are now available for Dublin’s Military Banner Program, which displays banners of veterans and active service members with ties to Dublin. Each year between Memorial Day and Veterans Day, custom banners are displayed along Dougherty Road between Scarlett Drive and Amador Valley Boulevard. Banners contain a photo of the honoree, their name, rank, branch, and current status.
Applications are available online through Friday, March 15. To qualify, an honoree must be an active service member or an Honorably Discharged veteran of the United States Armed Forces, and one of the following:
- A current resident of Dublin
- Have an immediate family member living in Dublin
- A former resident of Dublin with a demonstrated long-term, positive impact to the community.
After submitting the online application, applicants will need to verify military status, Dublin residency, provide a high-resolution military photo, and if the applicant no longer lives in Dublin, a narrative detailing their long-term, positive commitment to the city. All materials are due March 15.
Once approved, banners cost $200. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. For more information, call 924-833-6650, or email banners@dublin.ca.gov.
