Man Accused Of Targeting Runner's Glasses Hours On Iron Horse Trail After Jail Release (patch.com) — Dublin residents are learning more about a weekend incident on the Iron Horse Trail, where a man recently released from jail allegedly scuffled with a runner near Amador Valley Boulevard while trying to take their glasses. East Bay Regional Parks and Dublin police say one witness suffered minor abrasions, and the Oakland resident was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of battery on parklands and attempted robbery.
   

2. Dublin Weighs Consolidating 2 Community Commissions (patch.com) — Dublin's City Council is set to vote on merging the Parks and Community Services and Human Services commissions starting Jan. 1, 2027, a change aimed at saving money and simplifying meetings. The combined body would still oversee parks, recreation, and Dublin's Human Services Grants Program that funds local nonprofits for food assistance, child care, senior services, and other community support.
   

3. Earthquake struck area near Dublin, CA: 2.4 magnitude reported on Sept. 15 (sacbee.com) — A minor 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck about two miles west-northwest of Dublin around 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. While too small to cause damage, residents may have felt a brief jolt, and officials are reminding everyone in Dublin to review basic "drop, cover, and hold on" earthquake safety steps and be prepared for possible aftershocks.
   

4. 'They kind of lost rational reason': Property owners, city litigate land use at Dublin's eastern edge (pleasantonweekly.com) — A long-running dispute between Dublin officials and property owners at 2061 Collier Canyon Road is heading toward a 2027 jury trial, with both sides clashing over code violations and land use. The contested parcel sits in the path of the proposed Dublin Boulevard extension to Livermore, so the outcome could shape future traffic routes and development on Dublin's eastern edge.
   

5. Strong start with non-league schedule for (most) Tri-Valley football teams (pleasantonweekly.com) — Dublin High's football team has opened 1-2, finally breaking through with a 37-28 win over Elk Grove after early offensive struggles against Antioch and Vanden. The Gaels now face undefeated Lompoc on the road, while other Tri-Valley programs like Foothill, Granada, and San Ramon Valley are also sizing up their non-league starts before league play heats up.
