According to Schmidt, White and Navarro went to the Monaghan Street residential address around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to rob her ex-boyfriend. The Vallejo duo banged on his front door and, according to police, he was awoken by the noise.

The ex-boyfriend grabbed a gun and when he opened his front door he recognized Navarro, and saw White pointing a gun at him.

White and Navarro attempted to assault the ex-boyfriend and in self-defense he fired his gun at the pair as he escaped out of his home, Schmidt said.

White fired at the ex-boyfriend, but didn't hit him, Schmidt said.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Navarro suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving attempts, she died at the scene. Police have not confirmed whether fatal shots came from White and/or the ex-boyfriend's gun.

White suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital, Schmidt said. He has been booked into Santa Rita Jail.
