Sleep Train's Secret Santa Toy Drive Needs Toys

Residents in the Tri-Valley are encouraged to spread some cheer to the foster children in their neighborhood by purchasing a toy or gift to donate to the Secret Santa Toy Drive.

Not sure what to get a foster kid? Not a worry. We’ve collected wish list items from Sleep Train’s local foster organization partners, and here are the top items:

Boys: Legos, Star Wars, Action heroes, Sports equipment (footballs, soccer balls, basketballs and baseball equipment), Movies, Music players and headphones (iPods, mp3 players)

Girls: Clothing and hair accessories (scarves, gloves, barrettes), Make-up (lip gloss, nail polish), Diaries/Journals, Multi-ethnic Dolls, Books, Arts/Crafts Sets

All Children: Gift cards, Board Games (Monopoly, Sorry, Candy Land)

Young Children: Stacking cups/blocks, Cars and trucks, Play kitchen/cooking supplies, Electronic Learning Toys (like LeapFrog), Ride-on Toys
 
Why do it? Foster children live in an uncertain world where moving into a new home can happen anytime, even around the holidays. Often forced to tearfully leave behind their toys, friends, and even their clothing, a present on Christmas morning means the world to these kids who seldom get anything brand new.

New unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any Sleep Train store Monday through Friday 10-9, Saturday 10-8, and Sunday 10-7 until Dec. 11. The store in Dublin is located at 7916 Dublin Blvd. and the store in Pleasanton is located at 6050 Johnson Dr.
