Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock, Launches Membership Drive
Sign up by May 31 and be entered in a drawing of complimentary tickets to the 2012 Hollywood Bowl.

The , has launched a special membership drive to increase the number of people in Northeast Los Angeles who support the area’s premier cultural institution.
But first, this shocker: Less than 200 people in Northeast L.A. are members of the Center for the Arts, widely noted for its arts education programs for local elementary schools, animation classes, music events, exhibitions, film and special workshops that serve more than 150,000 people every year.
That’s a big part of the reason why CFAER Director Julia Salazar is hoping to attract 100 new contributor-level members.

Consider the incentives: A $300 contributor-level membership comes with a signed print of LAX Theme, an exclusive signed print by Eagle Rock artist Jeff Klarin, who co-owns Bughouse Art + Design, an art enterprise that's the talk of the town well beyond Northeast L.A. Created in 2012 on archival paper with pigmented inks, the work is valued at $75 and there are only 100 limited edition prints available. (See accompanying photo.)
In addition to Klarin’s 21-inch by 16-inch print, new members will also receive a Center for the Arts tote bag, plus two VIP tickets to the Center’s 2013 art auction (combined value of $80 at the door). And as yet another bonus, new contributor-level members who sign up by May 31 will be entered in a drawing to receive two complimentary tickets to the Hollywood Bowl for the 2012 season (some dates not available). Current members who upgrade to the contributor level will also be eligible.
