Huffington Post senior military correspondent David Wood was awarded journalism's coveted Pulitzer Prize in the "national reporting" category Monday for his coverage of severely wounded veterans and their families.
Wood's reporting for the 10-part series, "Beyond the Battlefield," explored facets of recovery ranging from a severely scarred Army veteran who performs comedy to the challenges the military and Department of Veterans Affairs face in coping with injured service members.
