2-Acre Fire Scorches Elysian Park
After more than an hour battling a brush fire in Elysian Park, firefighters were able to get the upper hand Tuesday.

ELYSIAN PARK, CA — With the help of air drops, firefighters were able to get the upper hand on a two-acre brush fire that tore through the Elysian Park area Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Amador Street and Solano Avenue near Radio Hill Gardens in Elysian Park. No homes are threatened by the blaze, and no one was injured, according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It took ground and air crews about an 1 hour and 15 minutes to extinguish the vegetation fire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, according to Bastman.
