This 100-year-old musical
comedy is considered to be the
first operetta of the entire Muslim world, and has been successfully performed
in scores of languages in over 60 countries! On September 7th, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will set the stage for the one-time-only performance of the famous operetta.
Produced by American
award-winning producer Michael Schnack, the comedy will be performed by outstanding U.S. opera singers, who will speak English and sing in original Azerbaijani (with projected English translations). Musical accompaniment will be provided by a Los Angeles-based group of musicians.
