Barricade Situation at Downtown LA Hotel: UPDATE

UPDATE: The man who barricaded himself inside the Union Hotel, 705 E. 9th St., in downtown Los Angeles, has been arrested.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police are determining whether a man has armed himself with a shotgun and is barricaded inside a hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Police received a report at 3 a.m. about a man who pointed a shotgun at another person at the Union Hotel, 705 E. 9th St., according to a watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton station.

“We’re still trying to verify if it (the weapon pointing) really happened,’’ he said.

No injuries have been reported, he said, and a SWAT team is now at the location.
