Brush Fire Breaks Out In Ernest E. Debs Regional Park

Firefighters are battling a small brush fire in the Montecito Heights​ area.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A fire that charred about a half-acre of brush in Montecito Heights was quickly knocked down Friday by firefighters.

Crews from the Los Angeles and Los Angeles County fire departments responding about 11 a.m. to a blaze burning uphill at Ernest E. Debs Regional Park in the 5000 block of Griffin Avenue had it doused by 11:30 a.m., authorities said.

The city fire department dispatched 55 firefighters and four water- dropping helicopters to the site. The county added four camp crews, one water- dropping helicopter and one battalion chief to the effort.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
