Brush Fire Scorches 6 Acres Near Elysian Park Drive
Firefighters battled a 6-acre blaze fuled by dry brush and heavy winds in Echo Park

ECHO PARK, CA -- Los Angeles Fire Department crews battled a brush fire that scorched six acres in Echo Park Thursday afternoon.
About 100 firefighters aided by a helicopter battled to put out the 6.3-acre blaze near Elysian Park Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. There were no structures threatened, according to authorities. The fire was first reported at 11:45 a.m., and it was contained in just over an hour.
No one was injured in the fire.
