Celebrations of Supreme Court Ruling on Same-Sex Marriage Planned in Silver Lake

Events are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Locals around Silver Lake plan to celebrate the striking down of the Defense of Marriage Act and the ruling on Proposition 8 on Wednesday by the U.S. Supreme Court.

To mark the occasion, all area residents are invited to a gathering at the Sunset Triangle Plaza, at Sunset and Griffith Park Boulevards, at 7 p.m. Signs, potluck food and noisemakers are welcome, according to organizers.

Another celebration as well as a discussion on the topic is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Micheltorena Elementary School and Community Garden during the Community Potluck at 1511 Micheltorena St.
