SILVER LAKE - An assault with a deadly weapon suspect who also is accused of ramming a police car with the SUV he was driving during an hourlong chase Wednesday evening throughout Northeast Los Angeles was arrested.
The pursuit began around 10 p.m. in the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Division, said Officer Sal Ramirez, but the starting location was not immediately reported.
The suspect led police through Northeast Los Angeles and officers eventually backed off the chase due to the driver's erratic driving.

Officers caught up to the man in the area of Fletcher and Riverside drives in Silver Lake where the man fled the SUV on foot and was taken into custody, according to reports from the scene.
No injuries were immediately reported.
