Echo Park Neighbors' Dispute Ends in Shooting

Police are looking for a man believed to have shot and gravely wounded a neighbor following an altercation.

Los Angeles Police are looking for an Echo Park man believed to have shot and gravely wounded his neighbor Wednesday night.

The shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. on the 500 block of North Benton Way, said LAPD Sgt. Andre Rainey.

“It appears to be a neighbor dispute that didn’t go very well,” said Rainey.

Following an altercation, one of the men fired several shots striking the victim in the upper torso. The victim was gravely injured and was undergoing surgery as of early Thursday morning.

Police have not yet released the name of the shooter at large nor the victim.
