The blaze broke out shortly after 12:30 p.m., scorching about half an acre of medium brush, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. The fire broke out near the 600 park of Academy Road, and Los Angeles firefighters had it out in under an hour. No injuries reported.
