Overcoming Depression - Enhancing Self-Esteem & Self-Confidence from a Buddhist Perspective

Our mind has tremendous power both to heal and to harm. When the destructive power of the mind is unleashed against oneself we can damage our sense of self-worth and experience feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing. Many people are hard on themselves in a way that is counter-productive and painful. However, through skillful analysis and meditation, we can gradually learn to identify these unhelpful thought patterns, feel empowered to accept our shortcomings, and transform our self into the confident, happy person we wish to be. This course will be based on time-honored Buddhist principles, especially emphasizing patient acceptance, loving kindness, identifying with our potential, and the wisdom realizing emptiness.

Taught by Gen Kelsang Rigpa, American Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher at KMC CA.
