Grass Fire Burns In Elysian Park Again
A brush fire scorched grassland in Elysian Park for a third time in three days.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters are battling a brush fire in Elysian Park area for the third time this week.
A half-acre brush fire is burning near the 1300 block of North Broadway in the Elysian Park area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The grass fire, which was reported shortly after 1 p.m., is burning uphill, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
It's the thrid time since yesterday that firefighters battle blazes in the area. Firefighters knocked down a couple of brush fires Thursday in Elysian Park.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported as a result of either blaze Thursdat, the first of which was reported about 12:30 p.m. and blackened 1 1/2 acres, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Three helicopters and 107 firefighters responded and had the flames knocked down in 90 minutes, according to the LAFD's Brian Humphrey.
Another fire, with no known connection to the first, broke out about 2:10 p.m. Thursday on Angels Point Road near Academy Road and burned about a third of an acre.
