LOS ANGELES, CA -- Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck has entered into a friendly wager with his Chicago counterpart, betting that the Dodgers will defeat the Cubs in the National League Championship Series, it was announced Friday.

If the Dodgers win, Chicago Police Department Superintendent Eddie Johnson will send Beck an Al's Italian Beef sandwich but if the Cubs prevail, Beck will ship lunch from Langer's Delicatessen-Restaurant, which is known for its pastrami sandwiches.

Beck made a similar wager last year with former LAPD Chief William Bratton, who then the New York Police Department commissioner, over the Dodgers- New York Mets National League Division Series, won by the Mets.
