Man Shot and Injured in Echo Park Police-Involved Shooting
BREAKING: Officers reportedly came across a crime-in-progress when the shooting occurred.

ECHO PARK, CA — A man was shot an unknown number of times by police in an officer-involved shooting early Sunday in Echo Park.
Details are still sketchy, but officers happened upon an assault in progress in the street about 1 a.m, in the area of Portia Street and Sunset Boulevard, shortly before the officer-involved shooting, according to Lt. Ryan Schatz of the LAPD's Northeast station.
"There was a crime in progress and from that is when the officer-involved shooting occurred. The officers were at the right place, at the right time" said Schatz, adding that no officers were injured.
