Man Stabbed In Chest, Face In Echo Park

The victim, who suffered a puncture wound to one of his lungs, was expected to survive, police said.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A man was stabbed several times in his chest and face Tuesday in Echo Park.

At 1:57 a.m., three witnesses observed the victim walking from an alley in the area of Echo Park Avenue and Sunset Boulevard and the suspected assailant in the attack walking away from the scene, said Lt. Nate Williams of the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Division.

The victim, who suffered a puncture wound to one of his lungs, was expected to survive, Williams said.

Police also found a trail of blood in front of the Gold Room Bar, located at 1558 Sunset Blvd., believed to be that of the victim's, Williams said.

Witnesses described the suspect as white, between 40 and 50 years old, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. He was seen wearing a black shirt and gray pants.
