Metta World Peace to Throw First Pitch at Dodgers Lakers Night Tonight

The Laker girls will also make an appearance.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers will conduct Lakers Night at tonight's game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Dodger Stadium, including an appearance by the Laker Girls and Metta World Peace throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

The Laker girls will be in the right field pavilion from 5:10-7:10 p.m. and on the field for pregame ceremonies. A special cocktail, Laker Nation, will be available at the right and left field plaza bars. It features Ketel One vodka, grenadine, sweet and sour, Blue Curacao and a splash of cranberry juice on the rocks.

A special loaded hot dog will be available at Dodger Stadium throughout the three-game series against Philadelphia. The Philly Cheesesteak Dog is an all-beef hot dog topped with griddled steak, caramelized onions with provolone cheese on an Italian roll. It will be available at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas on the field, loge and reserve levels.

The Military Hero of the Game will be retired U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Jerry Green of Fallbrook. Green conducted maritime search and rescue, law enforcement and counter-narcotic operations across the world, including rescuing several commercial fishing boats off the coasts of Maine and Canada.

Green was selected as an initial maritime member of a multi-agency task force to counter terrorism threats to U.S. ports after the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988 that killed all 243 passengers and 16 crew members, with the plane crashing in Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 11 more people on the ground.

Green retired in 2001 after 26 years in the Coast Guard.

The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a No. 42 pin as part of the Retired Numbers Pin Series, honoring the number worn by Hall of Fame second baseman Jackie Robinson.

Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. The Dodgers will take batting practice from 4:20-5:20 p.m. and the Phillies from 5:25-6:20 p.m.

Pregame ceremonies, including the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch, will begin at 6:57 p.m., with the game set to start at 7:10 p.m.
