Preseason Freeway Series Kicks off at Dodgers Stadium

The Dodgers will play their first home game of 2016 against the Angels Thursday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Dodgers will play at Dodger Stadium for the first time in 2016 tonight, beginning the three-game Freeway Series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Dodgers have again added prepaid lanes to further expedite parking for fans who have purchased parking in advance, a team official said.

The parking price remains unchanged from last year, $10 when purchased in advance at dodgers.com/parking and $20 at the gate.

Most local fans will not be able to see the game on TV because of a contractual dispute between Time Warner and the other cable/satellite carriers.

Tonight's game is also the first time Dave Roberts will manage the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Roberts, a former Dodger outfielder who spent the past five years as a San Diego Padres coach, was appointed manager in November, succeeding Don Mattingly, after the team and Mattingly mutually agreed that he would not return.

Roberts, who has a black father and Japanese mother, is the first minority to manage the Dodgers.

Ava Dominguez, a 12-year-old singer-songwriter, will sing the national anthem. Retired U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Christopher Munoz of Highland Park is the Military Hero of the Game.

Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m., with the first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.

The Dodgers and Angels will again play at Dodger Stadium Friday. The Freeway Series is set to conclude Saturday at Angel Stadium.

The Dodgers will begin the regular season Monday in San Diego and following a seven-game road trip that also includes a four-game series in San Francisco, will play their home opener April 12 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
