Thousands of DWP Customers Still without Power

More than 6,800 customers remain without electricity two days after the storm.

More than 6,800 Los Angeles Department of Water & Power customers remained without power today due to a weekend storm that brought high winds and at times heavy rain to the Southland, authorities said.

While more than 95,000 LADWP customers have had their power restored following Sunday’s precipitation, 6, 871 remained without power as of 6 a.m. today, according to the LADWP.

Among the communities most affected are South Park, Harvard Heights, Wilmington, east Hollywood, and Larchmont.

As of midday Monday, about 28,500 customers throughout Southern California Edison’s Southern California service area were without power, most of them in Orange and Los Angeles counties, including Palos Verdes Estates, according to the utility and law enforcement. Updated figures were not provided today.
