Man arrested for alleged threats to Valhalla High School, bank, El Cajon home (10news.com) — A North Park man was arrested after allegedly mailing violent threats to Valhalla High School in unincorporated El Cajon, a Chase Bank, and a private El Cajon residence. Deputies say he faces multiple felony counts, is held without bail under a gun-violence restraining order, and is scheduled for arraignment in El Cajon Superior Court, with officials stressing there’s no current threat to the community.

Ghost Daycares Busted: Operation Cradle to Grift Arrests 12 (iwfeatures.com) — One of the 12 daycare operators charged in a sweeping San Diego childcare fraud case is listed as living in El Cajon, tying this alleged multimillion-dollar “ghost daycare” scheme directly to your community. Federal prosecutors say the group billed for children who weren’t present, while state inspection records repeatedly showed empty facilities and missing paperwork, raising tough questions about oversight of California’s childcare system.
