East County Transitional Living Center, a nonprofit providing emergency housing, a one-year program ministry and job training to help reduce homelessness in greater San Diego, will hold, on Oct. 18, Recovery Happens, a fundraiser featuring inspirational stories about people’s triumphs over homelessness.

The event, featuring a barbecue, drawings, live entertainment, and the aforementioned testimonies, will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the center's headquarters, 1527 E. Main St. in El Cajon.

Money raised will support the center’s programs, which help individuals and families transition out of homelessness to healthy and meaningful lives.
