3 Richmond Boys Arrested For Robbery: Police

The boys are 14 and 15 years old. The robbery happened near the North Berkeley BART station, police report.

BERKELEY, CA — Three Richmond boys have been arrested for allegedly taking a cellphone from a woman while she was walking near the North Berkeley BART station on Saturday evening, police said.

The woman was walking on Sacramento Street between Virginia and Cedar streets at about 6:40 p.m. on Saturday when she was approached by three male suspects and after one of them grabbed her cellphone from her hand they ran away, according to police.

Based on witness descriptions of the suspects, officers located two of them, one 14 and one 15, nearby in the area of Holly Street and Buena Avenue, police said.

The third suspect, a 15-year-old, was located nearby in Ohlone Park, across the street from the North Berkeley BART station, and also was taken into custody, according to police.

The three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of stolen property.
