• Free Marine Flare Collection Events in October 2026 (contracosta.news) — If you live or berth a boat in El Cerrito, you can safely drop off expired marine flares for free at a special West Contra Costa County hazardous waste event in Richmond from October 14–24. The program is limited to West County residents and boaters, aims to prevent unsafe flare disposal, and also introduces reusable electronic distress-signal alternatives.
