Armed Home Invasion: Photo Of Getaway Car Released

EL CERRITO, CA — The El Cerrito Police Department has released a photo of what they believe to be a getaway car used in a home invasion on Monday.

No one was injured in the home invasion, and nothing was taken from the home.

The crime happened around 11:45 a.m. in the 7100 block of Donal Avenue. "The resident reported that an unknown suspect armed with a handgun entered the home through the front door," police said in an advisory. "Fortunately, the victim fled the residence to a safe location and called 911."

Despite use of a police K-9 and CHP helicopter, the suspect got away. He is described as an Hispanic man wearing a dark colored hoodie.

Officers retrieved surveillance video of the suspected getaway car — a white 4-door Acura TL with custom wheels.
