Despite Reports, No Shooting At BART Station

BART trains rolled through the station Saturday night without stopping.

EL CERRITO, CA — Reports of a shooting at the El Cerrito Del Norte station caused major delays on BART's Richmond line Saturday night, but police found no evidence that shots had been fired.

BART police were alerted at 8:19 p.m. that shots had been fired at the station and that the suspect was shooting at busses.

Officers responded, surrounded the station and used a police K-9 to clear the area, according to a BART police report. No evidence or suspects were found.

Trains did not stop at the station as police investigated the report. Normal service resumed around 10 p.m.
