El Cerrito Police Hunt Gun Shop Burglars
El Cerrito and Petaluma police are collaborating to see if the same burglars are responsible for crimes in both cities.
EL CERRITO, CA - Police are seeking a group of suspects who attempted to burglarize a gun store early Saturday morning in El Cerrito.
The four suspects were thwarted in their attempt to break into Old West Gun Room at 3509 Carlson Blvd., but may have successfully burglarized a gun store in Petaluma afterward, El Cerrito police said. Officers first responded to the El Cerrito incident at 5:34 a.m. Saturday based on an activation of the store's alarm system.
A broken window was found there but the suspects had already fled the scene.

The suspects did not gain entry to the store because of the security measures in place there, police said.
Two hours later, several suspects burglarized a gun store in Petaluma.

Petaluma and El Cerrito police are now working in concert to identify the suspects and believe the cases to be connected.
