El Cerrito Police Plan "Barks and Bells" Expo

Resources to help you prevent home burglaries.

El Cerrito, CA - The El Cerrito Police Department will present “Barks and Bells,” a residential burglary prevention exposition, on Saturday, June 25.

The “Barks” portion of the event will feature dog adoptions conducted by Contra Costa Animal Services and Fur Ever Animal Rescue.

Most adult dogs from animal shelters are ready to begin providing home defense right away and burglars tend to avoid homes with dogs.

There will also be businesses to support dog ownership such as PetCo and Abbey Pet Hospital.

The “Bells” portion of the expo will feature ways to make your home a tougher target.

Home Security companies ADT and Bay Alarm and locksmiths, Rex’s Keys and Fosters Brothers locksmiths will ha booths providing information and services. 

The El Cerrito Police Department will host a booth providing information on home security information and services. 

Bring your kids along

The El Cerrito Police Explorer Post will also be hosting a kid’s event where children will be able to lift their own fingerprints using real CSI equipment. Children will also get to keep the fingerprint cards as a souvenir. 

They will also be handing out child ID kits. 

The El Cerrito Police Explorers will also be selling hot dogs, chips andsoda. 

“Barks and Bells” will take place on Saturday, June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the El Cerrito Community Center, located at 7007 Moeser Lane in El Cerrito.
