El Cerrito Selects New City Clerk
This California native has a master's degree in Public Administration.

EL CERRITO, CA —The City of El Cerrito is pleased to announce the selection of Holly Charléty to the position of City Clerk. Mrs. Charléty grew up in Roseville and has lived in California all her life. She currently lives in Pleasant Hill with her husband and son.
Mrs. Charléty began her local government career as a Municipal Clerk in 2011 with the City of Sacramento where her responsibilities included facilitation of election processes, regulatory filing
compliance, and oversight of Board and Commissions members.
In September 2014, Mrs. Charléty moved to the Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District and oversaw agenda management, oversight of Board of Trustee meetings, records management, regulatory compliance, and management of district-wide administrative processes and department staff.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from California State University, Sacramento, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of South Dakota. She received
her Certified Municipal Clerk designation in 2014 and her Master Municipal Clerk designation in
2017.
She is an active member of the City Clerks Association of California: as a member of its
Professional Development Committee since 2015 and as an academy trainer since 2017. She is a
past presenter at the League of California Cities New Law & Elections seminar, and at the
California Special District Association Clerk/Board Secretary conference.
