Felon Tosses Loaded Gun From BMW, Arrested: Police

EL CERRITO, CA — El Cerrito Police arrested a Richmond man earlier this month after an officer saw him throw a loaded revolver out the window of a BMW, police report. The man was booked into the Martinez jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The arrest happened on Oct. 2 when officers responded to a report of a shoplifting. The woman reportedly fled the scene in a silver BMW driven by a man. The vehicle was spotted on San Pablo Avenue by officers. that's when the suspect allegedly tossed the gun .

The accused shoplifter, also from Richmond, was released with a citation.
