Fire at 2-Story Home Causes Significant Damage, Displaces 5
The blaze was knocked down within around 20 minutes of the arrival of firefighters.

Five San Pablo residents were displaced after a fire charred the first floor of their home on Tuesday afternoon, Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials said today. Fire Inspector Steve Aubert said it was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday that a fire was threatening a home in the 2200 block of Sutter Avenue.
Responding fire crews found the blaze had moved from the two-story residence’s exterior into the first floor of the home, Aubert said. The blaze was knocked down within around 20 minutes of the arrival of firefighters, but caused significant damage, Aubert said. A precise damage estimate was not immediately available.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the home’s five displaced residents, who were not injured in the fire. Aubert said the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
