• Man Killed In Shopping Center Parking Lot In East Bay: Police (patch.com) — El Cerrito residents are being urged to share any information after a young man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon in the Del Norte Plaza parking lot near Los Moles restaurant. Police say an altercation at the victim's car preceded the shooting, and two young male suspects fled in a dark sedan as detectives continue their investigation.
   

• Suspect arrested in San Jose for 2025 murders of former El Cerrito, Fairfield high school football players (contracostaherald.com) — An 18-year-old former El Cerrito High School football player, Guardian Harper, was killed in a 2025 Bay Point shooting, and the man suspected in his death has now been arrested in San Jose. The same suspect is also charged in a separate Fairfield homicide and is being held without bail in Solano County, with a court appearance scheduled this week.
