• Free Marine Flare Collection Events in October 2026 (contracosta.news) — El Cerrito boaters can safely dispose of expired marine flares for free at a special West Contra Costa County collection event in Richmond from October 14–24. Participation is limited to residents and boaters from El Cerrito and neighboring West County cities, with proof of residency required. Attendees can also learn about safer, reusable electronic distress signal alternatives.
