Police Search For This Man, Accused Of Injuring Elderly Man
The elderly man was shopping at Safeway in El Cerrito was he was pushed to the ground. The victim is now hospitalized.

EL CERRITO, CA — Investigators with the El Cerrito Police Department are asking for help identifying a suspect who allegedly injured a 72-year-old man while he was shoplifting at a grocery store Wednesday morning.
Around 9:50 a.m. police responded to the Safeway on San Pablo Avenue.
Officers determined that the suspect had been in the store, attempting to conceal merchandise, when the elderly man confronted him. He allegedly shoved the victim to the ground, resulting in significant injuries, and fled toward the nearby El Cerrito del Norte BART station.

The victim had to be hospitalized but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Based on security video footage obtained at the scene police are describing the suspect as a black man, around 30 years old, standing roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white baseball hat, a black jacket and a plaid shirt.
