Register Now As A Volunteer For El Cerrito Earth Day

Gloves, bags and tools are provided by the City to all volunteers who register. Plus - a free thank you luncheon follows.

EL CERRITO, CA — The City of El Cerrito will host its annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 21, 2018, with morning work parties across town starting at 9 a.m., followed by a volunteer appreciation luncheon at the El Cerrito Community Center from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

The City of El Cerrito welcomes volunteers to:
• Help tidy parks
• Pick up litter to help reduce the amount of trash that ends up in our creeks, waterways and the Bay
• Remove invasive plants from the Hillside Nature Area

As in previous years, the City expects hundreds of volunteers to participate. Individuals, families and groups should register online or by email to participate in a work party. Advance registration is available online or by email to earthday@ci.el-cerrito.ca.us.

Following the work parties, the City will host a free lunch at the El Cerrito Community Center all work party volunteers and their families. During lunchtime, there will be informational tables, a demonstration by El Cerrito Creative ReUse artist in residence Sandy Drobny, an art activity hosted by the Arts & Culture Commission, and a complimentary seedling giveaway by the El Cerrito Community Garden Network.
