Richmond Shooting Investigation Turns Up 2 Guns

Police also turned up an extended magazine.

RICHMOND, CA — Police investigating reports of a shooting that occurred Saturday in Richmond recovered two loaded pistols, including one with an extended magazine, according to a statement posted to social media Tuesday night.

The shooting occurred in the 800 block of Carlson Boulevard, and investigators determined that there was a silver SUV and a black Mercedes-Benz that may have been involved.

Officers looking for the suspect vehicles found one they believed to be connected to the shooting in the 700 block of 47th Street and made contact with a group of men nearby.

One of them turned out to be on probation, and a search of the vehicle turned up two loaded Glock handguns, a 9mm and a .40-caliber.

They also found a black Mercedes with shell casings, marijuana and a mask visible through the windows. It was turned over to the Berkeley Police Department as part of their investigation into another shooting in that city, according to Richmond police.

That case led to the arrest of a suspect who walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound.
